About the Event

Yin and Yang are the Taoist concepts which describe the two relative qualities present in everything. Yin being more internal, passive, cooling and downward. While Yang is more external, dynamic, warming and upward.

When these terms are applied to yoga, Yin Yoga is a slower practice where poses are passively held for longer, working on the deep, Yin connective tissues and joints in the body. Yang Yoga, in contrast, refers to a more active practice working on the Yang muscles and blood flow, building strength, stamina and flexibility.

For a balanced yoga practice, we need both Yin and Yang elements, either as seperate classes or worked together in the same class.

This workshop will start with an energising morning practice, using Pranayama to create heat. We then take our practice and bodies into the Yin element with long held restorative postures, learning about the meridian lines we are working.

As my regular students know I will be sending 50% of my earnings in the month of May to India to offer my gratitude and humble awareness that I would not be here teaching today without this incredible Country. Therefore your being a part of this event will be contributing to the India Covid Appeal.
